British royal family news reveals that this weekend was a fabulous occasion for the royals, the annual Trooping the Colour event, a celebration of the monarch’s birthday. Actually, the UK regent celebrates two birthdays—for King Charles this means one in June and one in November his actual birth month. What can we say, it’s good to be King!

The royals, including Princess Catherine, gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony as is tradition and this year there was as much talk about who wasn’t there as there was about who was pictured. Here’s what to know.

Royal Family News – Where Are Mike And Zara Tindall?

It came as no surprise that disgraced royals Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew were not invited to appear on the balcony this year.

In fact, it is the second year in a row that the Markles have been left off the guest list. And it speaks volumes when one is not invited to one’s father’s birthday party, right?

In a major surprise, Zara and Mike Tindall were not on the balcony and this had royal fans speculating about the omission.

Did they offend the king? Have they been put in the dog house with Harry and Meghan and their new canine bones?

Royal News – Mike and Zara Tindall Still Respectable

As it turns out there was a legit reason that Princess Anne’s daughter Zara and her rugby legend husband Mike were absent. The couple were at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to see Pink on her Summer Carnival Tour.

Pink, born Alecia Moore, is known for songs like So What and Just Give Me A Reason. Mike himself posted a pic of concert crowd to social media and noted that he and Zara were in The Green Room, “some of the best seats in the house with unrivalled views.”

Other guests in the suite included Laura Wilson who posted a selfie with Mike and Zara who wore a—what else—pink shirt, while Mike kept it low key in white T-shirt. Pink has a connection with the royal family, having performed at Prince William’s 2003 birthday bash.

Pink’s opening acts were KidCutUp, Gayle, and The Script. Mike and Zara have three children, Mia, 10, Lena, five, and Lucas, three.
