Here’s How Meghan Markle Has Been Staying In Shape During Her Maternity Leave

Apparently, Meghan Markle is the kind of new mother that likes to take things one day at a time. And who can blame her, right?

Meghan Markle Takes Things One Day At A Time

According to new reports, the Duchess of Sussex is taking her time when it comes to losing her baby weight. That’s because she doesn’t want to feel pressured to lose all of her weight in record time. Instead, she’s focusing on spending as much time as possible with her newborn son, Archie, while also doing yoga in her spare time to stay in shape. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Entertainment Tonight, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl says that the Duchess of Sussex has been taking a relaxed approach to getting in shape. Harry and Meghan welcomed little Archie back on May 7th. And while Meghan has always maintained a very healthy lifestyle, she is not trying to break any records when it comes to losing her baby weight.

Meghan Markle To Get Back Into Her Pre Pregnancy Fitness Regime

“Before she fell pregnant, you know, Meghan was very fit,” Nicholl explained, according to the site. “She was very into her fitness regime. She used to run around the park in Kensington, but she has been taking it easy. And I hear that yoga is very much on her post-birth fitness regime — nothing too strenuous.”

Katie Nichol also adds that Meghan has been relying on yoga to feel like her old self again, both physically and mentally. She took up yoga several years ago thanks to her mom, Doria Ragland, who is a yoga teacher back in her native Los Angeles.

Meghan Markle Starts Her Workout With Yoga

Instead of focusing on her weight and losing inches, Meghan starts off her morning routine with a little yoga alongside her husband, Prince Harry. Apparently, Meghan’s green and healthy L.A. lifestyle has rubbed off a bit on the royal prince.

“As I say, the whole approach has been holistic, it has been gentle,” Nicholl continues. “It’s been a natural embracing of motherhood, and with that has come a pretty gentle routine. … Meghan hasn’t been hitting the gym. She hasn’t been in any hurry to get back in shape. It’s only four weeks really since the birth and she’s been taking that exercise regime very gently, indeed.”

Both Meghan and Kate appear to be very disciplined people regarding their health. I have no doubt that Meghan will regain her pre-pregnancy weight through sensible diet and yoga.
