According to reports, the Queen’s youngest son along with his wife Sophie will now have new royal titles. Moving forward, the couple will be known as the Earl of Forfar whenever he has royal engagements and public appearances in Scotland. This is in addition to their current titles of the Earl and Countess of Wessex.
Queen Elizabeth has just officially joined Instagram. On the Royal Family account, the Queen shared several throwback photos of her and Edward. One photo shows Queen Elizabeth and Edward inside a carousel and another one is a portrait photo that was taken in 1964. The third photo is of the Queen and Edward back in 2003.
The photos were captioned with, “Wishing The Earl of Wessex a very Happy Birthday #HappyBirthdayHRH. Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, is the youngest child of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. The Earl supports The Queen in her official duties, and carries out a busy schedule of engagements for his charities and patronages from The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards to the Commonwealth Games.”

The caption also said, “Today The Queen has been pleased to grant The Earl of Wessex the additional title of Earl of Forfar which Their Royal Highnesses will use when in Scotland.”
We wish Prince Edward a very happy birthday. We can’t wait to see more photos of him and his family at future royal events both in Scotland and at home in London.
