Here’s When Meghan Markle Is Expected To Start Her Maternity Leave

It looks like the public might be seeing more of Meghan Markle in the coming weeks. That’s because there’s speculation that the Duchess of Sussex, who is pregnant with her first child, might be starting her royal maternity leave only moments before she gives birth.

According to reports, it looks like Meghan is taking things easy as she has no royal engagements or public appearances scheduled until January 23rd. As a matter of fact, Meghan’s husband Prince Harry is also taking an extended holiday break along with Prince William and Kate Middleton as none of the royals are expected to work until February.

And while Kate Middleton took some time off to prepare for the birth of her third child Prince Louis back in 2018, Meghan has other plans in mind. She wants to work until that first contraction kicks in. Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair: “Meghan has told aides she wants to work as close to her due date (…) as possible.”

What’s more, Meghan is expected to make a huge announcement in the coming weeks. She is expected to collaborate with at least one more charity before she gives birth this spring. That means she might not start her maternity leave until late March or even April. So far Meghan Markle herself has not made many comments about her pregnancy. Even though Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duchess is due in the Spring of 2019, the palace has not announced a due date. Either way, we will definitely be on baby bump watch as we continue to follow Meghan’s pregnancy journey.

If indeed Meghan plans to work right up to the birth of her bay, then she obviously feels well and enjoys working. More power to her! Whatever she decides, however, is personal and should not be cause for endless speculation.

Wish there was a way to edit these! First sentence should have read “baby” not “bay.”

February is “Spring ” in Markle-World. (No way is she due in April or May.)

Hi, Pennie! Yes, I tend to agree. She does appear to be far along. Have missed seeing you what with CDL being non-functioning. Hope you are well.
