It was recently announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in the US soon to deliver the second round of Earthshot prizes. The awards will be distributed in Boston and the couple’s appearance will certainly make them more visible to the American public.

According to one royal expert, the pair are making a distinct effort to become the “authentic choice” as the face of the monarchy.

Eric Schiffer said that while Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are already trying to be the face of the modern monarchy, they have no chance against the real royals, despite their “learning curve” and “very creative” brand.

Schiffer said that UK based couple are, “hungry to be seen as the authentic choice for the future of young people and certainly Americans. Right now, he’s been less than relevant. I think the monarchy would like him to be more relevant.”

Omid Scobie is another royal watcher who frequently weighs in on royal affairs; perhaps that is to be expected as he has proclaimed himself to be Meghan’s “soul mate.” Scooby Doo also wrote an authorized bio of the Markle’s and as Captain Obvious once said, the US has, “long been fascinated with British royalty.” He also claims that Meghan marrying Harry gave a boost to that curiosity. If he means the sort of curiosity that surrounds looky-loos at the site of a dumpster fire, he is spot on.
