How Kate Middleton Became The Data-Driven Princess

Kate MiddletonThe Duchess of Cambridge does not joke when it comes to gathering essential data that will help her make the most impact to any mission or patronage she’s a part of.

Earlier this month, the Duchess announced that she would be joining the Maternal Mental Health Alliance. The organization aims to provide new mothers with the necessary tools and support they need to avoid mental stress.

Kate Middleton is said to have a plan to change Britain’s approach to childbearing, and let’s just admit that she’s done her homework.

Kate Middleton Explores The Science Behind Mental Health And Trauma

Since joining the Royal Family in 2011, the Duchess has been a key member to the firm, even becoming the modern face of the monarchy. Now, as a mom to three kids, the Duchess has found her footing and is focusing on improving the development of children five years and under.

She believes that those early years are the most defining years in a child’s life and could impact the way they handle challenges as they get older.

While she admits that her own experiences of “mom guilt” came into play when launching her Early Childhood Foundation, she said that most of her drive comes from the encounters she had in the first few years of her royal engagements.

“For the last few years, I’ve been focusing on the importance of prevention: How can we all really support the earliest years of life, build foundations, and help avoid adversity later on in life?” she said. “Having met so many people who’ve suffered from addiction, I have seen over and over again that, sadly, the root cause can so often be traced right back to the very earliest years of someone’s life.”

The Duchess’ tender behavior towards children during her appearances earned her the name tag “the Children’s Princess”, and apart from being a glamorous jet-setter, her attention to science and research sets her apart from other female royals.

While she’s not the only royal to take a deep interest in women’s issues and education — the Queen Mother took on plenty of these assignments long before she became Queen and continued to support the causes until her death in 2002 — she’s the one that has extensively put in work to understand the paradigms of her mission.

She even spent several days shadowing a team of hospital midwives in November 2019.

Kate Middleton’s Collaborators Praises The Duchess For “Effortlessly Immersing” Herself In Work

In January 2022, two of Kate’s collaborators at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families released a joint statement commending her for her devotion to the work they do.

“Her commitment to children and family mental health is unflinching, and the interest she generates has encouraged many to talk openly about their experiences,” chair of trustees Michael Samuel and CEO Peter Fonagy said in a joint statement. “But that alone does not account for her remarkable achievements. She has immersed herself in our work and communicates her understanding of it effortlessly to the wider world. Her commitment to mental health has been extraordinary in its consistency and impact.”

Earlier this year, she took her foundation international, meeting with teachers from different countries.
