Before she established a social media presence Markle was married to film producer and talent manager Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013.

When Meghan Markle married the Prince of England, much was said, on the American side of the pond, about the wonder of having a mixed-race woman marry into the Royal Family.

Unfortunately, the couple dealt with more hatred and bigotry on the English side than praise from the American side, and eventually, they stepped down from their active roles in the Royal Family in 2020.

The pair cited privacy issues as well as hostile treatment in the British media as reasons for the move.

The Royal Couple now lives in Meghan’s home state of California and the two are pursuing business and charity ventures.

Meghan’s Estrangement From Her Father, Thomas Markle

Meghan Markle was born on August 4, 1981, to a middle-class family.

Her father worked on the set of Married with Children as the director of photography and lighting, and Meghan would often visit the set with him.

Sadly, the duchess is currently estranged from her family and has been ever since Mr. Markle refused to attend the Royal wedding in 2018.

Though her father cited a heart attack as the reason for not showing, according to iNews Uk, he had actually argued with his daughter around claims that he “staged paparazzi photos of himself preparing for the wedding.”

At 40 years of age, it’s clear Meghan Markle has come a long way from the broken home in Los Angeles, California.
