Princess Kate has often been praised for always doing the right thing in her role within the Monarchy, and now a former royal staffer is opening up about her husband Prince William’s role in crafting her image.

According to Paul Burrell, a former royal family staff member who worked in the royal household for over 21 years, Princess Kate has been one of the biggest assets to the Royal Family in recent years.

In an interview with Closer, Paul claimed that William is “steering Kate into Diana’s footsteps.”

“I see the way she dresses and the way she behaves, and if her mother-in-law could say anything, she would tell her that she’s doing an incredible job because she’s never put a foot wrong and the country adores her.”

When it comes to the reason William is “fiercely protective” over Kate, the former royal butler opined that it is because of the fact William lost his mother at the age of 15. “With William by her side, Kate’s safe because he will take care of her and would never let anyone harm her,” he said.

The Princess of Wales has been largely out of the public eye this year due to undergoing chemotherapy.

Her first big return happened at the King’s birthday parade last month, and already, there are rumors she will be present at Wimbledon’s final match to present the trophy to the winners in her capacity as patron.

“It’s been one heck of a year for the royal family so far and nothing would please the King more than to have his close family gathered together in the peace of Balmoral for a time to take stock together, mark the passing of an incredibly difficult few months and look to the future,” Jennie Bond said.

“Like Catherine herself has said, cancer treatment brings with it a large measure of uncertainty and that must extend to whether she is able to spend part of the summer holidays at Balmoral,” she added. “If she does go, I’m sure the whole family will want to surround her with love, support and renewed strength.”
