According to some sources, Prince Andrew is determined that elder brother King Charles will not drive him from Royal Lodge, not when he still has years left in his lease of the impressive 30-room property and its vast surrounding grounds.

With Andrew no longer receiving money from royal grants, there is fears he may let Royal Lodge fall into disrepair since he can now reportedly barely afford the $400,000 a year upkeep that comes with the property.

Not just that, King Charles is said to be very interested in cutting down on his annual spending, and well, paying for 24/7 security for the Royal Lodge is said to come with a hefty price.

While one can see why King Charles is keen on Andrew vacating the premises, a royal source is just now revealing that Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson will likely be backing him up on the fight..

The Prince Andrew pal was quoted saying, “He was given the lease on the house on favorable terms by the late queen. He has been living there with his family for the past twenty years. It is his forever home, and he won’t be leaving. Charles has more than enough houses to go round and should drop this distracting argument with his brother.”

Fyi, the reason the King eased pressure on Andrew to vacate the premises for a while now was because of Sarah’s cancer diagnosis, which she has been very open about and sharing her journey to recovery with fans. Even though Sarah doesn’t “want to rock the boat,” it is said she doesn’t want to stand by in the battle for Royal Lodge.

As for Prince Andrew not being able to pay for the maintenance of Royal Lodge, one royal insider thinks it’s hogwash.

“He has plenty of money. He sold his Swiss chalet, he continues to go out to the Middle East for work, and he inherited money from his grandmother,” the Royal source noted. “Sarah Ferguson bought a £5m ($6.4m) property in Mayfair in 2022.”

Andrew Lownie, author of ‘Traitor King: The Scandalous Exile of the Duke & Duchess of Windsor,’ further insisted that “there is not much Charles can do” since Prince Andrew still has years of lease on the property.
