Insiders Say Meghan Markle is Wimpy Harry’s Backbone – ‘He Wouldn’t Have Left Monarchy Otherwise’

Well, it’s practically common knowledge now that Prince Harry wanted to get out of the monarchy post haste. Insiders have suggested time and again that Prince Harry felt like a third wheel at engagement after engagement. Prince William and Kate Middleton would show up at a charity event, begin waving to the crowd, and then Harry would arrive and it would kind of be like … “Oh, there’s the other one.”

Now Royal Correspondent author and broadcaster, Katie Nicholl has suggested that “While the media loved this idea of a royal threesome (Kate, William, and Prince Harry) at one point I heard him complain that he felt the gooseberry, the third one along at the date.” Ms. Nicholl went on to note that, “I think that while Kate and William went out of their way to make sure Harry felt part of this team, part of this trio … he (Prince Harry) never quite fit in. Everything from where they lived, a stone’s throw across the courtyard at Kensington Palace, to the Royal Foundation that was theirs, they very much tried to include him … “ Yet, Prince Harry always wanted to be “his own person.”

Of course, the telling thing here is that Prince Harry couldn’t do it. He couldn’t break away from the monarchy and all the boring dinners and engagements he had to attend along with Prince William and Kate Middleton. Prince Harry was just too weak on his own. Indeed, Prince Harry apparently went along to get along. That is until Prince Harry met the woman who would become his spine.

Ms. Nicholl tried to praise Prince Harry, suggesting that, “Harry is a very, very focused man, he has very clear ideas of what he wants to do and that wasn’t to be a spare wheel to William and Kate.” However, her words ring hollow since she also stated that, “Meghan really gave him the confidence to break free.” In other words, Prince Harry wanted all these things, but he didn’t have the strength of character, the fortitude he needed to make decisions for his own life … he needed Meghan Markle for that.

Now, that’s not to say that it’s a bad thing for some men (like Prince Harry) to need a woman to support them. Some men do much better in life when a strong woman, ostensibly like Meghan Markle, is leading them. Of course, now that the couple is married and has been for a while, some wonder if perhaps Meghan Markle has issued standards, rules, and orders she expects Prince Harry to follow. Also, if Harry doesn’t toe Meghan’s line, are there consequences?

There do, of course, have to be upsides to Prince Harry and Meghan’s relationship. The fact that Meghan acts as a skeleton to Harry’s boneless life is apparently one of them. It’s also clear that Meghan is the one with the brains in the relationship. Meghan is very smart, but then … what manipulators aren’t?

Regardless, the bottom line is that many commentators opine on Prince Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle. However, at the end of the day, it is Prince Harry’s relationship. Thus, whether he acts as Meghan’s sock puppet or not is really not anyone’s business.
