Without the King of England, no one is going to speak to Harry and Meghan, let alone look in their direction, so to speak. That’s why they are willing to do anything at this point, including be seen an public appearances with the monarch, just so it looks like they are being welcomed again.

“They need Charles’ seal of approval,” a royal insider tells Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack. “One photograph, one cup of tea, one warm welcome from the King is worth more to Harry and Meghan than a dozen Hollywood deals. It tells the world they’re back inside the royal orbit.”

That said, King Charles is making it clear that he’s not going to tolerate them having one foot in the palace and one foot out. They are free to live anywhere in the UK, but they are also not going to be treated as bona fide members of the royal family, either.

According to Radar Online, one source close to the situation even put it this way, “They are being reminded in very explicit terms of where the boundaries lie and how little room there is for interpretation.”

What’s Next For Harry And Meghan?

“That has inevitably prompted some difficult conversations between them about what their future in the UK is realistically going to look like, and they are already questioning their return to Britain.”

Plus, the King of England had made it clear in a statement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to be treated as private citizens now that they are back in the UK and not as full-time working members of the royal family.

And because of it, Harry and Meghan are not going to get the same kind of security detail that other members of the monarchy get, which apparently is what they’ve been asking for behind closed doors this entire time.
