His older brother might be the King of England, but it looks like it’s Prince Andrew who has the upper hand here.
There are new reports that suggest the Duke of York is “digging his heels in” as King Charles faces some major threats from his younger brother over his living situation and possible eviction from the Royal Lodge.
Apparently, Prince Andrew is doing everything in his power to make sure that it doesn’t happen. Here’s what you need to know.
Is Prince Andrew Starting A War With King Charles?
Just recently, royal expert and author Andrew Lownie told the Daily Beast that if there’s one person who is pushing King Charles’ royal buttons lately, you better believe it to be Prince Andrew.
He thinks that if he pushes the King of England to the wall, sooner or later he’s going to budge and Andrew might be able to get things done his way again. At least, that’s what the Duke of York is hoping for.
Lownie put it this way, “Andrew is digging his heels [in]… it’s part of a wider power and status game with Charles. Optics don’t look good, but that won’t worry Andrew.
I don’t see him ever leaving. Charles and William have united to bring him down a peg or two and try and keep him and his family under the radar because they, as the future of the monarchy, have most to lose by his antics.”
If that weren’t enough, royal expert Daniella Elser added that it would definitely be in King Charles’ best interest not to look like the evil older brother and kick Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson out on the street.
What’s Next For The Duke Of York?
She said, “Ejecting Andrew from the 30-room monster is not some notion His Majesty might forget. Given this, what could or would the Duke, backed into a corner and desperate to hang onto this plum bit of his royal identity, resort to?
All of which is to say, this looks like a fresh disaster-in-waiting for the King and his crisis team.”

[…] The insider added, “Of course, they are massively irritated by the prospect of more blockbuster Harry trials but they have been expecting it; there is also the defamation case against the Mail don’t forget. Their goal is just to keep plugging away and not get distracted by any of it.” […]
Andrew is a bully and Charles is and always has been weak. And Andrew knows this, of course, as his brother. Andrew ain’t going nowhere unless physically removed from the home. And, even if Charles wasn’t a weak, timid man to begin with, bully-boy Andrew is definitely making him look like he is.
If Queen Elizabeth was still alive, Andrew would never defy her like this. Of course, it’s possible that Queen Elizabeth would never order or request this since Andrew is supposedly her favorite child.
I wish she was still here. Between Camilla refusing to use the “Consort” part of her title calling herself Queen Camilla and Charles weak and timid character, the monarchy desperately needs Charles to step down and give it to William while there’s still something to give.
Of course, as an American, compared to what we’ve got in the leadership department, the Brits are doing great. If it’s any consolation, I detest my leader far more than I don’t like yours.
The title consort hasn’t been used for years neither Queen Mary or the Queen Mother used it and nor did Prince Philip so it’s not unusual.
