According to royal pundit Richard Fitzwilliams it’s impossible to know the exact net worth of any royal family member despite the family accepting taxpayer monies. Why is it so hard to determine how much the royals are worth? Let’s unpack what is going on behind the scenes with the famous family.
Royal Family News – What Is The Royal Family’s Net Worth?
There is no shortage of estimates of the monarchy’s wealth. CelebrityNetWorth estimates that Prince William is worth at least $100 million.
Daily Express reports that William is worth more than $1 billion. His wealth inflated upon inheriting the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate worth £1 billion ($1.3 billion) following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
The outlet states that the Duchy of Cornwall was established by Edward III in 1337 to provide funds to his son and heir, Prince Edward.
The Duchy includes land, farm tenancies, and commercial properties in 20 counties in England and Wales. The estate’s most recent annual report (2023) states that it is worth £24 million ($30 million). Although the monarchy is not required to pay taxes but have done so since 1993.
Prince William shares a budget with his wife Princess Catherine who is worth roughly $10 million.
Additionally, the couple have three homes; Kensington Palace in London, Anmer Hall in Norfolk, and Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate.
The Guardian reports that the couple pays rent on Adelaide Cottage, there primary residence, and Anmer Hall was a gift from Queen Elizabeth.
Royal News – William Administers The Duchy Of Cornwall
When the Queen Mother died in 2002, she left £14 million ($17.6 million today) to her great-grandsons. The BBC reports that most of the funds went to Prince Harry since William will come into a fortune when he becomes king.
The siblings also came into a chunk of change when their mother Diana died in 1997. It’s thought that the brothers inherited $21.3 million after taxes.
In 2023 the royal family received £86 million ($109 million) from the Sovereign Grant. That works out to £1.29 ($1.63) per person in the U.K. However, the Sovereign Grant doesn’t pay for the royals’ security. That expense is funded by the taxpayer and is never revealed.

for the rift now Harry and Megan had admitted they are act fault for somethings
that went wrong but not all of it now Megan
