The world is slowly opening its doors and stores after coronavirus locked down the world. But with Queen Elizabeth still in isolation due to the pandemic, some sadly are wondering if she will ever return to public royal duties and carry on as before.

In fact, one royal watcher is speculating that her reign is not only over, but that Covid-19 has in effect fast-tracked her son Prince Charles to ascend the throne.

A Royal Biographer Has Claimed That Charles’ Ascension Has Been Sped Up By Coronavirus

Andrew Morton is speaking out to The Telegraph on the consequences of the pandemic, saying that coronavirus has, “done more damage to the monarchy than Oliver Cromwell.”

His statement follows the report that 94-year old Queen Elizabeth may stay isolated for months and perhaps not return to her normal public royal duties.

The UK Government Continues To Ease The Lockdown But Her Majesty Remains In Isolation

Morton added, “It’s terribly sad but I can’t see how the Queen can resume her job. The COVID-19 virus isn’t going away soon and will be with us for months if not years … far too risky for the Queen to start meeting people on a regular basis.”

This is in part due to the fact that the queen is in a high-risk group for the virus based on her age.

This absence is believed to be the longest furlough from her official duties within her extraordinary 68-year reign.

Her Majesty has always enjoyed meeting people but now she can’t take the risk?

Morton went on to say that he thinks, “The brutal truth is that her reign is effectively over. COVID-19 has done more damage to the monarchy than Oliver Cromwell. Corona has practically put Charles on the throne.”
His words are quite explicit, and it remains to be seen if his opinion comes to fruition.

Will The Queen Now Only Be Seen On TV Or Video Calls Versus Being Out In Public?

Last month a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said the queen continues to be engaged, having a weekly call with the Prime Minister and receiving a daily stack of Government papers.

It was noted by the spokesperson that the queen would, “follow appropriate advice on engagements,” and is staying in touch with her family via phone and video calls.

Nonetheless, Buckingham Palace remains closed for the summer, for what is thought to be the first time in nearly 30 years. The annual Trooping the Colour event and Her Majesty’s garden parties have all been canceled.
