Kate Middleton And Princess Diana Had To Pass This Sweaty British Royal Family Test

British royal family news reveals ‘Battle of Brothers’ is the latest book to give an inside look into the royal family. Written by historian Robert Lacey, it spills a surprising secret about how Princess Diana and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, were initially judged in the England by The Firm.

In the book, Lacey unpacks an astonishing requirement the royal family has for anyone marrying into the fold and reveals that both Diana and Kate passed the test!

How did Queen Elizabeth II test Diana’s fitness to join the family?

In the book, Lacey quotes Patti Palmer-Tomkinson who says she and Diana, “went stalking together. We got hot, we got tired, she fell into a bog, she got covered in mud, laughed her head off, got puce in the face, her hair glued to her forehead because it was pouring with rain…She was a sort of wonderful English schoolgirl who was game for anything.’”

In other words, Diana’s willingness to show her athletic game and get down and dirty to boot earned her a huge thumbs up from Queen Elizabeth.

Kate also earned credit for her love of physical exertion and activity. Photos show her sprinting, in a sailing competition, and taking son George out hunting.

In this way, Diana and Kate’s athletic leanings won them high praise as they were sized up by The Firm. According to Lacey Camilla also fits this mold: “Along with the shared silliness went a mutual delight in country pursuits. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles were both devotees of huntin’, shootin’, and fishin’ — seldom happier than when decked out in their Barbours, tweeds, and welly boots.”

Kate Middleton Was Always Thought Of As A Perfect Mate For William

Of Kate, Lacey writes, “she has all the attributes of the perfect flatmate — steady and reliable, clean and tidy, good company but not too gossipy, smiling and upbeat, and a fluent but not over-chatty conversationalist who could be relied upon to invite her attractive friends to your joint parties. She would never be too loud over breakfast the next morning — and she was always good for the rent.”

Reading between the lines, Kate was seen as willing and able to accommodate any given circumstance, without whining plus she had the standing to carry out a royal role.

Kate’s agreeableness stands in stark contrast to the rude attitude displayed by Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle who among other things alienated palace aides she called “vipers.”
