Royal Family News: Kate Middleton Faces Health Scare

Royal Family news reveals Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, is self-isolating at home after coming in contact with someone who later tested positive for the coronavirus. Kate Middleton, 39, has already received two of her COVID-19 vaccine shots but she’s keeping to the government protocols and is isolating at Kensington Palace. She is not experiencing any symptoms yet, but she wants to make sure she is not putting anyone at risk by dismissing it.

Duchess Kate’s Royal Engagements Puts Her At Risk Of Suffering From The Novel Coronavirus

Since guidelines began to ease in the U.K., the royal mom-of-three has certainly been busy and engaged with her various duties. From launching her Early Childhood Development Project to visiting museums, touring Scotland and visiting various small businesses and learning how they coped with the pandemic, the Duchess certainly snatched up many headlines as she kept up with her royal duties.

Last week, she attended the Euro 2020 football tournament and Wimbledon tennis tournament and received a negative COVID-19 test before each game. In compliance with the Royal Household testing regime, she receives COVID-19 tests twice a week.

She began self-isolating after her public outing at Wimbledon on Friday, a Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed in a statement to CBS News.

At the event, according to reports by BBC News, the Duchess sat with the Duke of Kent in the royal box on Centre Court. Later on, she sat with top British tennis player Tim Henman to watch another match. She also kept to the guidelines about when to wear a mask while at Wimbledon.

BBC reported that the Duchess was supposed to attend events celebrating the 73rd anniversary of the U.K.’s National Health Service along with her husband, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, this week. The keen tennis fan is also likely to miss upcoming tennis finals at Wimbledon next weekend.

Her husband, Prince William, reportedly tested positive for coronavirus in April 2020, Palace sources told BBC News in November 2020. He, however, has also received two of his COVID-19 shots.
