Before Meghan Markle entered the picture, the Princess of Wales was extremely close to her brother-in-law.

In fact, there were a lot of photos and videos of Kate Middleton looking like she was having an amazing time each and every time she was with Prince Harry during their joint royal engagements and public appearances.

Some people even believed that Kate looked like she was far more comfortable with Harry than with her own husband, Prince William.

While no one knows if that is true or not, one thing is for certain: Kate and Harry had a very close relationship and at one point Harry even told the world that Kate was like the sister that he never had.

Simply put, if Kate Middleton doesn’t feel it’s necessary for her to attend, she simply won’t.

One source close to the situation put it this way, “Partly because of her cancer and partly because she’s more comfortable in her role, she now says no.

When she started her life as a senior royal, she was much more concerned with how she appeared, not doing or saying anything wrong.”

The source continued, “Now, whatever she does, has to be right for her, be it a state banquet or a game of tennis.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
