Kate Middleton was one of the central guests at King Charles’ first state banquet as the reigning monarch. It was also the first time that she publicly wore a tiara in almost three years.
But more than the dazzling tiara, which is said to be over a hundred years old, was the gorgeous Jenny Packham gown Catherine graced the event with. Fans compared her latest bedazzled Jenny Packham with the custom gold one that she wore during the premiere of “James Bond: No Time To Die” last year.
At the end of the day, most royal fans had to admit that both dresses brought something unique to the exquisite table.
What Did the Princess of Wales Wear To Tuesday Night’s Royal Banquet?
You can always count on the Princess of Wales to serve us something beautiful. I mean, she’s not worth over a million dollars to the British fashion industry for nothing.
Paired with Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara, a favorite of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, the royal stepped out in a floor-length Jenny Packham, which featured a grand cape sleeve detailing and structured shoulders.
Kate Middleton paired the look with pearl earrings that previously belonged to Diana – which she last wore publicly during this year’s Remembrance Sunday service – and a bracelet from Queen Elizabeth’s jewelry box.
As the state banquet was an official event, she also wore the Royal Family order and the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order star and sash.
She was pictured chatting animatedly with some of the guests, alongside her husband Prince William, who adorned his suit with the Garter Star, the Thistle Star and three miniature medals that stand for the three Queen Elizabeth Jubilees he attended (Gold in 2002, Diamond in 2022, and Platinum in 2022).
The very next day, Catherine made headlines and the cover pages in a number of UK newspapers.
The Last Event Kate Middleton Attended With A Tiara
Even though the Princess of Wales owns an assortment of tiaras, she rarely wears them during engagements. In fact, the last time that the royal stunned fans with a gorgeous tiara was in 2019. However, between 2019 and now, she’s carried out more than a hundred engagements.
The last state banquet held was on behalf of then-President Donald Trump who visited in 2019, a few months before the Covid pandemic hit.
The last time Catherine wore a tiara was for Diplomatic Corps reception in December 2019. The annual event sees a thousand guests including ambassadors, high commissioners and government officials. For the high profile event, she wore the Lover’s Knot – the same she wore this Tuesday.
