Entitled “Kate vs. Meghan: Princesses at War?”, the special will present a closer look at the relationship between Kate and Meghan as well as their respective husbands. Is there any truth to the tabloid reports that the two Duchesses are not in friendly terms, and that the royal fab four are just putting up a united front for the public?
The TLC special aims to answer these questions. According to E! News, “Kate vs. Meghan” will include in-depth interviews with credible royal experts such as Katie Nicholl, Victoria Arbiter, Paul Burrell, and Robert Jobson.
“Two of the most famous women in the world. One a Hollywood star, recently married to the royal family. The other, home county’s born and bred–destined to be our future queen,” the show describes Kate and Meghan in its two-minute teaser.
The clip goes on to show how the rumor even started in the first place, with headlines of Kate Middleton crying amid Meghan Markle’s wedding preparations. Some suggest that Meghan, being a successful 30-something American, is simply a head-strong and opinionated woman. But other royal experts believe that the real rift is between the husbands–Prince William and Prince Harry.
The royal fab four is dubbed as the future of the British monarchy, and any sighting of them excites the public. They were last seen together last Christmas as they all attended the traditional celebrations at Sandringham.
Whether their rift is real or fabricated, it is truly interesting to see how Kate and Meghan’s relationship will unfold. As the teaser indicated, Kate will be the Queen of England one day. This means that Meghan will always be in the shadow of her sister-in-law. She may even have to curtsy to her in public. At least in the eyes of the public, there will always be tension between the two.
