“It’s so hard. You get a lot of support with the baby as a mother particularly in the early days, but after the age of 1, it falls away,” Kate confessed. “After that, there isn’t a huge amount–lots of books to read.”
Princess or not, Kate Middleton added that every parent experiences the same struggle. Following the footsteps of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, Kate has veered away from the royal tradition of leaving the children to the care of nannies. While she certainly has household help, the Duchess of Cambridge is known to be a hands-on mom to her three children: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and eight-month-old Prince Louis. She has often taken breaks from her official duties to prioritize her kids’ needs and she’s has been photographed several times while spending quality time with them.

Parenting is truly an advocacy close to Kate’s heart. Wearing a dark green dress and suede accessories, the Duchess of Cambridge stepped out on Tuesday to meet with the volunteers of the charity’s newly launched helpline which aims to provide support to struggling parents. Aside from the discussion, Kate also sat through a short film produced by the charity to promote its new campaign.
The Daily Mail reported that those in attendance all attested to Kate’s warmth and sincerity. Sagari Sarkar, a volunteer and fellow mom-of-three, said she was particularly impressed by the Duchess’ sympathy.
“I think it makes her human. It makes her in touch. She is a parent, a very active parent, and I think that’s what people like about her,” the volunteer said.
