Are Prince William and Kate Middleton copying Harry and Meghan? Royal family news headlines repeatedly have demonstrated that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry know how to manage social media.
Before stepping down from the royal family and resulting duties, Meghan and Harry were lumped in with Kate Middleton and Prince Harry in the Kensington Royal office social media. But then Markle and her husband walked away from The Firm, as the royal family is known.
Since then, Meghan and Harry have created their own brand. The couple has become active on social media and proved their skills at maintaining a public awareness of their lives.
Now, months later, Kate Middleton and Prince William seem to be following in Meghan’s and Harry’s footsteps. Get the royal family scoop below about their social media moves and see if you think Kate and Will are aiming to copy Markle and her husband.
Kate Middleton, Prince William Change Instagram
Visitors to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s Instagram site recently noticed something different.
The royal duo changed their Instagram handle from @KensingtonRoyal to @DukeandDuchessofCambridge. And if you bookmarked their old site, don’t worry. The Kensington Royal Instagram provides an automatic re-direct to the new page.
The Instagram handle change accompanies a social media announcement: Kate and William now are alive on YouTube!
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a post announcing the exciting news. “Better late than never – we’re now on @YouTube,” wrote the royal couple. Kate’s and William’s Instagram followers cheered the news as well as the video post. “The Duke and Duchess have upped their social media game. Love it!!” gushed one fan.
Kate Middleton, Prince William Create YouTube Channel [Video]
In accordance with their new “better late than never” theory, Kate and William have sought to create a distinctive presence on YouTube.
But Middleton and her royal husband appear to have copied Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s emphasis on making their media relatable through casual, friendly social media posts. As a result, Kate and William’s first YouTube post contained lots of smiles and giggles, as well as charming images.
The new YouTube channel also contains Kate’s personal project seeking to help those with mental health problems. Middleton has become involved in phone calls with participants in the Hold Still project, as it is known.
But the casual, smiling style of the introduction reminds us of Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Duke of Sussex Prince Harry’s approach to social media. A recent Instagram post, for example, showed an outtake from filming recently for @Queens_CommonWealth_Trust (QCT). The smiles and laughter made Meghan and Harry relatable and endearing.
What we hope to see on Kate’s and William’s YouTube channel: Videos of their adorable children. From the oldest, Prince George, to the youngest, Prince Louis to their outgoing daughter, Princess Charlotte, Middleton, and her husband are parenting a trio of cuteness. We’d love to see more images of the royal kids on the couple’s social media.

Why is the news media stuffing the British monarchy down our throats on a daily As an American I don’t need to hear about the brits daily and their family problems . I don’t need to hear where the newly married grandchildren are moving. There are much more important things going on in the world. Wish Harry and Meaghan would just shut up and disappear
