He’s walking and talking now and apparently, he’s also got a lot to say! As a matter of fact, Kate Middleton recently revealed that British television host Mary Berry helped inspire little Prince Louis’ first words. Here’s what you need to know.
Kate Middleton Opens Up About Prince Louis And His Talking!
According to the Irish Independent, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed that ‘Mary’ was actually Prince Louis’ first spoken word. And while a lot of tots often say “mama” or “dada” it appears as though Prince Louis might have been paying attention while watching old episodes of The Great British Bake Off. That, or he might have heard the word slip plenty of times while his mother Kate Middleton was making her own baking creations with the help of Mary’s numerous cookbooks.
During a recent television appearance alongside Mary Berry and her husband Prince William, Kate talked about how Prince Louis likes to hang out in the kitchen while his mom is cooking. Kate made her comments in the new BBC festive special, A Berry Royal Christmas.
She said: “One of Louis’ first words was ‘Mary’, because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf. And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books and he would say ‘That’s Mary Berry’ … so he would definitely recognize you if he saw you today.”
What’s more, Mary Berry also had a lot of positive things to say about Prince William and Kate Middleton. Berry told reporters that both the Duke and Duchess were “remarkable” during her festive program.

She said, “They don’t just arrive and shake a few hands make a few smiles and a speech, they want to get involved, and they want to see what they can do. And it isn’t just one visit, they come back again and ask for the results and they remember who they spoke to last time. I think that’s remarkable.”
With that said, we have a feeling that Prince Louis might one day make his own appearance in a future Mary Berry festive program. At least, that’s what we are hoping for. Fingers crossed!
