At 40, Kate Middleton has developed a reputation as a royal who perfected the balance between mother and wife. But when the Duchess of Cambridge first took on those roles, she struggled. And now a royal family expert has revealed that Kate’s struggles ruined a romance for Prince Harry.

About four years before Prince Harry met Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex enjoyed a relationship with Cressida Bonas. And Harry and Cressida seemed fated for a walk down the aisle. They even got introduced through approved royal channels, with Prince Andrew’s daughter, Princess Eugenie, playing matchmaker.
However, royal author Robert Lacey revealed that Kate Middleton then ruined Harry’s romance with the blonde beauty. And in his book Battle of Brothers about Princes William and Harry, Lacey shared that an incident in 2014 sparked Cressida’s motivation to split. When Harry’s then-girlfriend watched Kate struggle with excess press attention during a tour of Australia, Cressida felt horrified.
“In 2014, [Cressida felt] ‘completely spooked’ after watching the TV coverage of William and Kate touring New Zealand with baby George in tow,” revealed Lacey. And the author added that Cressida confronted Harry after viewing the scenes. Seeing the Duchess of Cambridge struggle with then-eight-month-old George amid the media spotlight, Cressida refused to let the relationship go any further. “That was not the way she would want to enjoy her eight-month-old son, she regretfully explained to Harry,” wrote Lacey in his book.

Prince Harry Admitted Media Played Role In Royal Family Exit
However, Harry learned a lesson from his experience with Cressida. Because when the media spotlight grew intense soon after he and Meghan Markle married, Harry decided to step back from his royal family duties. And the Duke of Sussex even hinted at the link in his interview with Oprah Winfrey.
During their time with Oprah, Harry and Meghan reflected on how much they disliked the constant scrutiny from the press. And Markle discussed feeling suicidal from the often harsh spotlight. However, Meghan at least experienced some of that media attention during her years as an actress.
But for Cressida, walking down the streets of London amid the pushy paparazzi felt overwhelming. And she believed that if she stayed with Harry, it would get worse. Ironically, Meghan and Harry proved that escape was possible. But their departure from England came only after numerous challenges.

The why you worded it was like Kate was to blame which isn’t true. It was the media how they covered her and William. Some people like the young lady Harry was seeing at the time realized she could not deal with it which I believe was very honest of her to let him know before if they were to marry.
Kate had recently had a baby. Of course she was emotional. Most women are. Someone should have made arrangements for the two ladies to have a conversation about what Kate was feeling to help Harry’s girlfriend understand better. From what I seen and read Kate would have helped her. But she may have been emotional and overwhelmed at the time. Kate was under a lot of pressure at the time because she was having to do everything right when she was in the public eye by herfelf but especially when she had the baby with her.

I’d rub too. She didn’t want the pressure. Sad Harry should of fought for her.she would of been asset to Royal family. She knew the rope not like a actress who was terrible at her job. Harry go back to family and old girl.
Royal life isn’t for anyone. It’s understandable that one of Harry’s girlfriends refused to raise a family as a royal.
On the other hand, Markle simply wanted to run the show. No evident comparison with one of Harry’s former girlfriends. Markle wanted the trumpets to blare every time she stepped outside with “her” subjects bowing deeply before her. She does not have the intelligence, education or grace to be a royal. I am at a loss to render an opinion on the Markle. She is insignificant.

Yeah right they love each other so that explains their ugly fights. Haven’t you seen his pics with the bite marks on his hands and his bruised up face. Look them up. I say she has something on him to blackmail him that he’d better not leave her. She’s a con artist like her mom and their pics of all of them together are phony as hell. Infact, super phony and such a fake surrounding with them and the kids. Grandma throwing her hands up in the air. Not True! Cressida left H cus he is Mental and she saw this first hand. They were together 1 night and H went mentally Ballistic over something and she became afraid of him right then and there. Afterwards she told him that he needed help and should go and see a psychologist or someone for his mental outbursts. I’m sure that he had plenty while dating her. So Kate’s Australia trip is not true Mr writer. Cressida saw the real side of Mental H and therefore said, he’ll I’m not gonna marry this sx man, just guessing here, but she saw a lot of this man that does really need a lot of help.
