Kate Middleton Shares Rare Insights Into Her Children’s Personalities

The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 40, have opted to give their children a much-relaxed and normal life away from the public eye.

Kate Middleton and William rarely take their children on royal outings and rarely talk about them in public. Every once in a while the proud parents have, however, let slip their children’s passion and personalities, like Princess Charlotte’s love for “This Girl Is On Fire” by Alicia Keys and George’s support for Arsenal, a Premiere League football team. We also know that the children love playing lego with their parents and that they’re all into physical sports.

Princess Catherine Says No One Can Prepare Anyone For Motherhood

In a solo outing to the Royal Surrey County Hospital’s Maternity Unit – as part of her Early Childhood Foundation work – Catherine met parents and their newborns.

During the outing, she got the chance to hold a newborn named Giles and it made her realize how big her youngest child Louis has grown. According to Hello!, she said: “I keep thinking Louis is a baby but he’s a big boy now. It just feels like yesterday.”

Seeing how Giles was huddled up in his mittens, she gushed, “George was so huddled up too, he spent quite a few days like that.”

She also got to hear about how delivery was for the new mothers. A circumstance which she could relate to based on her past experience with severe morning sickness during all her pregnancies.

She said: “No matter how much everyone tells you what you expect, it’s a shock to the system, isn’t it? You have this idea of what will happen but every single birth is different.

Catherine’s Work On Her Early Childhood Foundation Is Inspired By Her Role As A Mother

The Princess shares three children: Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, with husband Prince William.

As a mother of three, her work on Early Childhood is personal to her. The thought that fuels the Foundation is the belief that the earlier years of a child’s life (0 to 5 years) is crucial to determining how that child handles mental stress and societal issues as they grow.

Due to her continuing work with children, she is the patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Evelina London Children’s Hospital and The Scout Association, among others.
