Kate Middleton’s Mom Shares Royal Grandchildren’s Fave Toy

Each year, Carole Middleton turns Christmas into an extra special occasion for her royal grandchildren, reports Hello. And that means choosing holiday decorations and toys that appeal to the youngsters. As a result of her experience, Carole has learned that Louis, George, and Charlotte especially love one little toy.

Bring on the Nordic gnomes! The Duchess of Cambridge’s mother shared on Instagram that she needs extra toy gnomes this year because her grandchildren love the “cheeky chaps” so much.  “I’m going to need a few of these cheeky chaps this December, to hide around the house and make my grandchildren laugh. As much as I love immaculate decorations, we can’t be too serious at Christmas!” pointed out Carole.

Carole’s Instagram photo revealed that the little toys consist of gnomes wearing red pointed caps and red-and-white striped outfits. The toys’ round noses peek out amid fluffs of white beards. The Instagram account, Party Pieces, also highlights other photos showing how Carole celebrates Christmas.

Prince George, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte Decorate Trees

And Carole Middleton’s indulgence of her royal grandchildren doesn’t stop with toys. The Duchess of Cambridge’s mother also revealed that she fills her house, Bucklebury Manor, with a variety of Christmas trees. Prince Louis, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte get their own rooms in the manor, and Carole even sets up trees in her grandchildren’s rooms so they can decorate them on their own.

Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic lock-down prevented Carole from giving her royal grandchildren the full holiday celebration. But normally, said Carole, she gets Louis, George, and Charlotte involved in every aspect of decorating for Christmas. “I normally let my grandchildren help me decorate the tree. This year, I’ll ask them by video call to decide which decoration should go where. It may need to be tastefully rearranged later…!” she joked.

In addition to indulging the Duchess of Cambridge’s children, Carole and her husband Michael enjoy their role as grandparents to her daughter Pippa’s children. Pippa and James Matthews co-parent two offspring: three-year-old Arthur and eight-month-old Grace. And we’re guessing that Carole makes sure to get enough little Nordic gnomes for Pippa’s youngsters as well!
