While Kate was convalescing, a charming image of her and her three children was posted on Mother’s Day in the U.K.
Several media outlets retracted the photograph, claiming that the picture had been heavily edited. From there social media piled on, leaving plenty of conjecture and innuendo in their wake.

The photo was published after months of Kate being absent from the spotlight. It’s safe to say that she had no idea of the backlash that was to follow. How did Kate react to the negativity?
Robert Hardman described Kate’s reaction in his book “Charles III: New King. New Court. Inside Story.” According to him, the Wales’ family were shocked and “astonished by what happened next.”

Hardman notes that Kate apologized for editing the Mother’s Day photo, an apology that many thought was unnecessary in the age of Photoshop. But according to Hardman, Kate saw the hubbub as a non-issue since she released the pic simply wanting to celebrate motherhood.
