But enough about Kate Middleton, this is about Ella, the beautiful creature that has James’ heart and who goes with him almost everywhere. She even introduced him to the love of his life, Alizee Thevenet.

James Middleton’s Dog Passed Away At the Age Of 15

James and Ella were a match made in heaven, starting from the time she was just four weeks old. Since they met, James had one rule: whatever he did and wherever he went, Ella had to come too. And oh, what precious moments they shared too.

“She has climbed all of the UK’s highest mountains with me, joined me on the red carpet, tried paddleboarding, camping under the stars,” James recalled of their memorable times. The best, he writes, was when she “introduced me to my future wife.”

Over the course of 15 years, James never went more than a few weeks without seeing Ella. He also credited the cocker spaniel with introducing him to therapy when he suffered from clinical depression. She also helped keep him “young and active” and was the major inspiration behind the launch of his brand @ella.co. So yes, if it took two pages to write about his pain following Ella’s death, we understand.

Writing on Instagram, the 37-year-old entrepreneur wrote: “For 15 years Ella has been at my side, from my darkest days to my happiest. I’m going to miss her terribly.”

He further provided a brief information regarding the cause of her death, adding: “Ella had a very short illness, she slipped away in my arms at home and is now buried in the garden alongside Tilly. I took this picture just a few hours before she died.”

“I’m just about holding it together to write this, and despite the fact I knew this day was coming, it doesn’t make it any easier.”

He then told Ella to rest easy knowing that “Alizee and the dogs will take good care of me.”

James Middleton Calls For Donations To His Favorite Animal Charity On Behalf Of Ella

In a separate clip, James asked people to volunteer time and resources to Pets As Therapy – a charity that was once Ella’s home.

“As many of you know, Ella was a therapy dog with @petsastherapy_uk and I know first hand dogs don’t just change lives, they save lives,” he wrote. “It would mean the world to me if you might consider donating to this amazing charity on behalf of Ella or perhaps even consider joining as a volunteer.”
