Earlier this month, rumors started emerging that Princess Kate won’t join her husband Prince William for the third awards gala of his Earthshot Prize.
Reportedly, she would be staying home to help their eldest child, Prince George, study for his upcoming exams.
This means that this year would mark the first time William will host the awards without his wife Kate by his side.
Prince William To Make Solo Trip to Singapore In November For His Environmental Prize’s Gala
Kensington Palace has finally released the itinerary for Prince William’s upcoming trip to Singapore, confirming that Kate Middleton won’t be joining him.
In November, Prince William will travel to Singapore for a three-day visit that will culminate in the prestigious awards ceremony that will take place on November 7.
“The prince is very much looking forward to being in Singapore,” William’s spokesperson said. “The prince wants to really seize the opportunity of being in Southeast Asia to build more momentum around the Earthshot winners and finalists and to put their solutions to some of the biggest environmental challenges we face firmly on the global map.”
William Launched Earthshot Prize Nearly Three Years Ago, Recognizes Best Ideas That Contribute To The Common Goal Of Conserving The Planet.
Every year, five ideas from dozens of applications get picked to receive the £1 million grant that will go towards scaling their solutions.
William describes the prize as “Our brightest minds [taking] a shot at saving the world,” going on to promise that we can achieve the impossible if we put our minds to it.
Just last week, a Palace spokesperson shared that William doesn’t see saving the planet as cutting back on our flights, rather he sees it as something we can achieve by totally changing the way we do things.
For example, Mukuru stoves – one of the projects funded by the Prize – helps African homes have access to cheap energy, thereby eliminating the need to cut down trees and use their wood for burning.

Terrible that the Princess of Wakes is not accompanying her husband on this special trip. A few days is not going to hurt her son academically or otherwise, never thought Catherine would coddle her children so much. Her husband needs her and the Monarchy needs her. Plus we have King Charles and Queen Camilla forgetting about Australia and New Zealand, there will be No Monarchy left for George.
I agree with Kate’s decision to support the children as the world is a scary place with wars.
