Royal News – The King And David Beckham Enjoy Beekeeping
David Beckham is a legendary, loyal royalist. So it makes sense that Charles made him the ambassador of his sustainability-focused charity, The King’s Foundation.
The appointment was made recently but prior to this important event, Charles and David discovered that they have beekeeping in common.
Beckham retired as a player in 2013 and inspired the popular movie Bend it Like Beckham. He is married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and through the years he has been quite vocal about his support for the monarchy. His Instagram account also shows that he’s a dedicated beekeeper, just like Charles.
Royal Family News – David Beckham and King Charles Love Beekeeping
It was last year that the two VIP’s discovered that they share a mutual passion. At a 2023 meet and greet, David Beckham gave King Charles a pot of his homegrown honey.
He said “I made some honey for you. It comes from my bees in Oxfordshire” and Charles responded “Really? Well, I’ll have to swap it with the one that I do.”
Royal Family News – Beekeeping Is In King Charles Blood
King Charles makes his own honey at his Highgrove House country home in Tetbury. The royal website notes that Clarence House is home to two beehives, and Buckingham Palace has four.
The King’s Foundation announced in May that at Highgrove Gardens, Beckham saw “first-hand the charity’s impactful education programmes that take place at specialist workshops on site” at which time Beckham decided to partner with Charles’s charity.
The King’s Foundation “seeks to fight the climate and natural resource crisis through education and training” according to Vanity Fair.

After the decision Beckham said in a statement: “I’m excited to be working with The King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work. I’ve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”
