There’s a new report that suggests King Charles and Prince William are in the middle of a power struggle and unfortunately, it seems like things are going to get worse before they get better for the two men. According to Us Weekly, the dynamics between the King of England and his son have shifted in a way that no one had expected.

One source close to the situation even puts it this way, “Charles has wanted to be the monarch for decades. Even though he’s battling cancer, he’s not letting that get in the way of his desire to be successful on the throne or a dynamic leader.” 

But when it comes to Prince William though, the insider added that he, “is preparing behind the scenes for when his ascension happens. Like his father, he takes being a success in the royal role very seriously.”

It also seems like Prince William wants to bring a new, younger energy to the crown and he’s got some plans to make it happen.

Royal Family News – What’s Next For The Monarchy?

The tipster also said, “Modern times call for a modern monarchy, and William has been active in getting that together.”

“The king had a traditional approach to patronages, accumulating over 500 of them. In contrast, William is determined, as he sees it, to make a real difference and to do this in a way that will give him contemporary appeal. He and [Kate] are attached to far fewer charities but do more for the ones they have links with.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
