Charles and Camilla Are Not Joined at the Hip
Charles and Camilla married on April 9, 2005. The low-key ceremony was in sharp contrast to the monarch’s first wedding to the late Diana.
That affair was streamed lived across the globe, with millions of excited fans tuning in to see the handsome prince wed the delicate flower.
Diana was exquisite in a white dress with puffy sleeves and a long, long veil. Unfortunately the marriage did not last, with both parties claiming adultery during the sacred union.
As most royal fans know, Diana told the BBC that Camilla was the third party in her marriage and soon after the late Queen Elizabeth demanded that Charles end the sham marriage.

Today Charles and Camilla are celebrated, not scorned as they were during Diana’s heyday. Royal pundit Ingrid Seward told The Sun that the loved-up couple “spend quite a lot of time apart. Ray Mill House [in Wiltshire] is Camilla’s sort of release from royal life, if you like.”
Camila values her privacy so much that King Charles reportedly spent $3.9 million to buy the house next to Camilla’s private home, Ray Mill House.
According to Seward, Camilla made Charles promise that she could keep her home: “She goes every weekend when she can, and she goes during the summer so that she can spend some time with her grandchildren and her children, and it’s something that’s away from the whole royal world.” Some people have a she-shed, some people have a manor.
King Charles and Queen Camilla Spend Time Apart
Seward shared that the privacy rule runs both ways, with Camilla often excluded from Charles’ private home, Highgrove. The exception to that is when the royal pair are entertaining guests at Highgrove.

Royal life is stuffy and fussy, so more power to Camilla for safekeeping her private sanctuary. But perhaps royal fans did not know that the two “actually spend quite a lot of time apart.”
After all, they went through quite a lot to be together. In the beginning of their rekindled courtship, Camilla was painted as a wicked witch by the media and called a homewrecker among other more colorful epithets.
