Amid plunging monarchy popularity, it seems that King Charles is getting pointed fingers when it comes to hypocrisy. In fact, a royal commentator claims the King is learning right now that speaking out in the modern world can be damaging. Read on for more details.
The King Treads A Thin Line?
Neil Sean, a royal commentator, discussed the issue on his Daily News Headlines channel on Thursday. Actually, he usually says rather nice things about Charles. But not this time. In his vlog, he suggested the King faces a “very very thin line.” As he often does, Sean compared the current monarch to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

One thing that everyone knew about her was that she always remained silent on anything political. “Nobody truly knew what the queen felt politically about anything,” he said. Plus, he noted that her neutrality protected the monarchy. Nowadays though, Charles often mentions his passion project opinions.
Reeking Of Hypocrisy
When personal opinions intrude, it can obviously create a problem. What the royal expert talked about was the King’s climate change advocacy. Actually, for many folks, it reeks of hypocrisy.
Like many others in the world, King Charles would like to leave the world a better place for his grandchildren. But unfortunately, his son’s actions undermine the message. Sean pointed to Prince Harry’s frequent use of private jets. “The problem that you have is it’s the people around you that let you down,” he said, addressing the King directly. Not to mention Harry commenting on President Trump
Climate Change & Politics Are Closely Aligned
Well, Harry is not the only one. Even Prince William found critics when he went to the COP30 in Belém, Brazil, last month. The meeting was widely slammed for clearing forest and many others who attended were also criticized. Naturally, that makes the King’s view on climate change seem hollow.
These days, climate change and politics often cross boundaries, and in the opinion of Neil Sean, that sort of thing creates tension. In other words, if the monarchy is to keep public support, then it should at least be consistent. Obviously, saying one thing while your family does another damages credibility.
Viewers React
It certainly seems as if any hypocritical actions really annoy many people across the globe. One follower opined, “I’m sick of hearing about climate problems from people flying in private jets! They think we are ignorant and should believe what they say, not what they do!”
Here are a few more responses from the discussion area:
- It was wonderful that Queen Elizabeth never revealed any political preferences.
- There’s no such thing as a true communist who owns several homes and is wealthy, and there’s no such thing as someone who is truly into the climate change scam who flies around the world VOLUNTARILY on private jets.
- Hmm why is it we the general public that need to listen to these elites demanding we save the planet while they are free to jet around the world on private planes, holiday on super yacht’s and drive gas guzzlers. They should all be preaching to each other rather than us.
What are your thoughts? Are you surprised that King Charles seems to be bringing the smell of hypocrisy to the monarchy? Let us know in the comments below, and come back here often for all your royal family news and updates.
