So it looks like he is wanting to throw the towel in after all. Of course, we are talking about King Charles as there’s a new report that suggests the King of England is looking to abdicate from the throne in the next twelve months.

And with everything going on right now with Prince Andrew’s Jeffrey Epstein scandal, who can blame him for wanting to step down. Not only that, but King Charles is still dealing with his ongoing battle with cancer. He’s not out of the woods just yet.

Per Rob Schuter’s latest Substack, he says that for King Charles, it’s all about timing. He doesn’t want to make an announcement right now because he knows the optics would look bad, seeing how Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s names are in the headlines because of the DOJ’s investigation into Epstein.

One source close to the situation even said, “The transition will look measured and dignified. Health provides the most unassailable explanation.”

“Charles will not be seen as pushed. He has waited a lifetime for this role. When he steps back, it will be entirely on his terms.”

The insider also added, “In many ways, he’s already king unofficially. The institution is preparing emotionally, even if the paperwork hasn’t caught up. The monarchy survives because it adapts before it has to. If there’s a handover, it won’t feel like surrender. It will feel inevitable.”

What’s Next For The King of England?

Now, whether or not King Charles does end up pulling the plug remains to be seen but so far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.

But then again, it really wouldn’t surprise anyone if King Charles did want to step down. After all, this has been one of the most turbulent times that the monarchy has ever seen and if anything, King Charles doesn’t want any of the negative news stories to be part of his legacy and that’s probably why he’s looking to make a clean exit.
