Is King Charles wanting to reach out to Prince Harry because he truly misses having him back in his life or is it because he wants to save face? That’s what a lot of royal fans and critics on both sides of the aisle can’t help but wonder.

That’s mostly because there’s a new report that says while the King of England is open to repairing his long standing feud with his son, it’s mostly because he’s in need of some positive headlines at the moment.

In fact, one source close to the situation even put it this way, “The wounds inflicted on Charles and William in Spare — including accusations of racism, bullying and backbiting — have yet to heal.”

“Charles wants Harry first and foremost to stop talking about the royal family.”

However, it doesn’t seem like the Duke of Sussex is willing to head over the UK so quickly .That’s because both he and Meghan Markle are worried about their family’s lack of security.

The insider added, “Harry still wants his family to receive royal protection when they’re in the U.K. That’s something Charles could make happen with a snap of his fingers.”

“This meetup is make-or-break. If it goes well, it could lead to other family members being open to better relationships. If things get leaked negatively, then it’s done, and there’s no chance [for peace].”

Whether or not this meeting actually happens remains to be seen, but it looks like whenever one side is willing to offer an olive branch, the other side retreats. Here’s hoping that King Charles and Prince Harry finally go meet face to face sooner rather than later.

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter although at this point it’s doubtful that anything will be said. Watch this space for more.
