King Charles Shocks With Scaled-Back Coronation Due To Prince Harry?!

King Charles sparked speculation about his coronation this weekend. Because Buckingham Palace shared details of the event in May, royal family experts raised some questions. And specifically, some wondered why Charles would want to scale back his coronation.

Find out what Buckingham Palace revealed on Saturday. And discover how Prince Harry allegedly caused King Charles to strip down his ceremony. Get all the royal details below.

Buckingham Palace Releases King Charles Coronation Details

Prepare for royal family conspiracy theories to go big. And speculation began on Saturday. Soon after Buckingham Palace revealed the coronation schedule of events, some tried to understand why King Charles would decide to avoid a major event, according to TMZ.

But Buckingham Palace’s official royal Instagram announcement focused on a community feeling. “Communities across the UK will be encouraged to come together to celebrate the Coronation,” began the posting. And the Instagram post described “events including Big Lunches, volunteering days and a concert in the grounds of Windsor Castle which will be open to a public ballot.”

King Charles will star on May 6 in the official crowning/induction. And the palace also announced a celebration lasting for three days. However, the coronation will occur at Westminster Abbey. And the palace promised a “solemn religious service.” The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will lead the religious aspects.

But the events will continue on the days following. For instance, Sunday’s highlight will include a concert at Windsor Castle. And an extensive feast will offer a chance for celebration throughout the United Kingdom. A bank holiday on Monday and a charity-focused event will also take place.

However, speculation about the reduced pomp and circumstance stems from Buckingham Palace referencing the past while looking to the future.  “[T]he (coronation) Service will reflect the Monarch’s role today and look towards the future.” However, then the palace promised that the events will remain “rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.” And that part has sparked the speculation.

For instance, some think that King Charles wants to spend less money. And that would mean a shorter, less expensive celebration. That would contrast with the events that Charles’ mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, experienced in 1953. And that would align with the theory that the ruler wants to avoid showcasing the monarchy’s wealth.

However, others suspect that Prince Harry’s comments about his father contributed to the scaled-down plans. For instance, the Duke of Sussex described the royal family as out of touch with the present day. As a result, some speculate that Prince Harry may want to avoid the coronation.
