King Charles STUNS By Ending Fergie’s 30-Year Royal BAN: Here’s Why!

King Charles stunned the rest of the royal family by inviting Sarah Ferguson (affectionately known as Fergie) back into the royal fold this holiday season. And he did so despite Prince Philip banning the Duchess of York for the past 30 years.

But as Fergie’s smile showed amid her walk with the royal family to church on Christmas Day, she cherished the invitation. And as revealed below, Charles had a very specific reason for welcoming the Duchess of York’s return.

King Charles Welcomes Fergie Back Into Royal Fold

Sarah Ferguson, 64, looked joyful to join her former husband Prince Andrew, King Charles, and the rest of the royal family on their traditional Christmas Day walk to church.

The famous event marked the first time that Fergie, as fans call her, participated in the royal family’s annual holiday walk to church in more than 30 years, per Page Six.

But King Charles, 75, took full responsibility for inviting Fergie to return to the highly photographed annual event. The Duchess of York, mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, proudly walked next to Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their children in a clear signal of her return.

But the Duchess of York’s comeback occurred only after Charles’ father Prince Philip devoted years to banning her and icing her out from the royal family. But after all those decades of feeling on the outside looking in, the Duchess of York waved at the crowds and accepted flowers from fans.

Prince Philip Banned Fergie For Two Shocking Reasons

After their divorce in 1996, Fergie and Andrew achieved an amiable relationship. And the former couple even have lived together since 2008. But Fergie made two mistakes that caused Prince Philip to ban the Duchess of York from the royal family.

First, Fergie attempted to get money from a journalist in exchange for access to Andrew. And second, the Duchess of York got caught in a marriage cheating scandal. But photos showing Fergie with her toes in another man’s mouth made Prince Philip irate. As a result, he banned her from any and all public events with the royal family.

But a palace insider shared why Charles broke the ban. “Sarah has always been close to the king [Charles] and is fond of him. And she has increasingly grown closer to the queen [Camilla]. She’s always been loyal to the family and has really not put a foot wrong in recent years. She’s never said a critical word and is always extremely loyal to the institution.”

Fergie Remains Devoted To Family

And so King Charles made the decision to welcome Fergie back into the royal fold. But an insider revealed, “Fergie is really the glue that holds the Yorks together. She’s devoted to her girls and grandchildren and lives with the duke day to day and has seen him through this difficult period, which has been appreciated by the wider family.”

And on Instagram, Fergie kept her message simple. “We are enjoying each other’s company and feeling grateful today.” Those close to the Duchess of York praise Fergie for how she publicized her breast cancer diagnosis to encourage more women to undergo mammograms.

Sarah is such a classy lady. She has always shown respect to the monarchy. She is more royal than Harry. Maybe Harry should use Sarah as a role model.

  • Chrissy

I agree, Fergie has been loyal to the family unlike Harry and Meaghan. They should lose their title and Fergie should get one.
