Royal Family News: King Charles Rebuked in Public
Thorpe is an aboriginal senator from Victoria and she shouted “You are not sovereign! Give us our land back, give us what you stole from us!”
As Thorpe was removed from the chamber she continued to shout, yelling “You are not our king! … This is not your land.” According to the BBC “Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people emphasize that they never ceded their sovereignty or land to the Crown.”

But there was not consensus for Thorpe’s outburst, with Aboriginal leader Aunty Violet Sheridan calling her “disrespectful” and saying “She does not speak for me.”
Charles’ trip to Australia prompted controversy before it even began. According to the outlet Charles is on record as saying “whether Australia becomes a republic is … a matter for the Australian public to decide.” In 1999 Australia held a referendum on the issue of constitutional monarchy, it failed 55-45.

King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla have a busy schedule in Australia, already visiting Sydney, a service at St. Thomas’ Anglican church, and a luncheon at the Parliament House of New South Wales.
The Guardian reported that the king left the luncheon after just ten minutes, prompting speculation about his health.
He is receiving treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer but has decided to forego treatment while he is out of the country. It’s been reported that he has “two private doctors and a supply of his own blood” with him.

A palace aide told The Daily Beast that some people are watching Charles closely during this visit: “It’s all about proving he isn’t dying, to be blunt. The problem is that if anything goes wrong, people will leap to the opposite conclusion.”
