Charles was talking to a former IG competitor in London on Wednesday, February 19 when the topic came up. Here’s what to know about the regent’s opinion of the man formerly known as Prince, Harry.

The monarch was at the Center for Injury Studies at Imperial College London, a visit tied to the U.K.’s support for injured service personnel in Ukraine.
According to Us Weekly King Charles met David Henson, a former British army captain and IG athlete. The Invictus Games are modeled after the US Wounded Warrior Games and debuted in 2014.
In a video Henson is seen demonstrating virtual reality biofeedback technology, a tool used to enhance rehabilitation for those with limb loss.
At one point the discussion turned to Henson’s participation with the Invictus Games: “Are you still taking part in games and sports?” Charles asked.

Henson responded “So I’m a touch too old, I think.”

Henson added that he was in the “Invictus Games in 2014 and 2016, Paralympics in 2016 and I stayed one of the trustees until the end of 2023. So I’ve certainly been involved with it. I’m back in the defense industry now, I’m working, I’ve got three children.”
Charles was impressed with the vet’s resume and replied “Fantastic.”
Henson first met the king in 2014 when he was photographed with Charles, Harry, and Prince William at the Invictus Games in London where he was captain of Team U.K.

Last week the 2025 games in Vancouver and Whistler, Canada ended after hosting hundreds of people from more than 20 countries. The event ran from February 8 to 16 and Dominic Reed, CEO of the Invictus Games, talked to Us Weekly about Harry’s part in the games.
“I’ve worked with the duke for nearly 12 years now. And what I was saying to people who ask, because people obviously do ask, [is that] his commitment is unparalleled.”
Apparently Harry told Reed that the IG was like a child of his … It’s a very important thing to him.” And we all know how important Harry’s kids, Archie and Lili, are to him.
