Meghan Markle Accused Of Copying Vogue Cover

Meghan Markle Accused Of Copying Vogue Cover

It appears as though the backlash surrounding Meghan Markle’s role as a guest editor for the British version of Vogue magazine continues. This time around the Duchess of Sussex is being accused of copying her Vogue cover from a 2016 book.

Australian authors Samantha Brett and Steph Adams claims Meghan ripped them off by using the cover of their 2016 book ‘The Game Changers: Success Secrets From 40 Women At The Top, How To Become A Fearless, Fabulous Girl Boss’ for her Vogue cover.

Many critics argue that the two covers look quite similar with Meghan’s showcasing a number of inspirational women, including mental health campaigner Adowoa Aboah, New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, actress Salma Hayek and climate change campaigner Greta Thunberg.

Did Meghan Markle Use Their Idea?

To add insult to injury, Meghan Markle had actually worked with Brett and Adams on their book. The two authors say that while copying the book cover is flattering, they also see it as a disappointment, too. Both covers have the women’s photographs in small boxes, with one left out as a mirror for the reader to see themselves as a “force of change” for the Vogue cover. Meghan’s photograph appears on the cover of ‘The Game Changers.’

Brett told Fox News in an interview: “It’s obviously very flattering, she must like our concept! I love Meghan and am a huge fan, but it is a little bit disappointing.”

With that said, there’s no word if the cover concept was actually Meghan Markle’s idea, as she did collaborate on the issue with many different people.

“But any project that aims to support the empowerment of women, I am a great supporter of,” Brett continued. “Our book was for charity — so hopefully they too are giving the proceeds to a worthy cause.”

Trailblazers

If that weren’t enough, Brett also noticed similar wording in both their book and Meghan’s issue of Vogue.

“And then someone sent me the press release and the wording was very similar,” Brett added. “She said ‘trailblazing change-makers who are fearless women,’ and on the back of my book, it says ‘trailblazers, game-changing, fearless women.’ And so I thought ‘wow, this is very similar.’”

So far the Duchess of Sussex herself has made no comments about the accusations.

Is it possible to quit running the continual attacks on Meghan Markel? It is pure racism instigated by the racist British press.

So what other words should she have used? Brett obviously used up all the buzz words of today so there wasn’t any other ones left for Meagan

In the written word, there is no copyright on individual words; only paragraphs, whole articles, or books. It seems that there is wholesale criticism of Meghan because of her accomplishments, her position as a royal, and her ethnicity. The negativity reflects upon the people who criticize, not the Duchess of Sussex.

Another Meghan Markle put down day? Tbh, it is sickening! Every single day there is something they are blaming this poor woman for and it just makes me so sad that they have nothing better to do than try and character assassinate her. You go DOS!
