Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently stepped out on a warm California day. And their smiling faces made the Duke and Duchess of Sussex look perfectly content with their lives.
However, the couple continues to struggle with what they see as a run of bad luck, such as Spotify axing their deal.
Find out what insiders revealed about Meghan and Harry. And learn why their current situation has become known as their “flop era.” Get all the details below.
Meghan Markle – Holds Harry’s Hand On Outing
Sunny weather in Santa Barbara, California gave Meghan Markle and Prince Harry the perfect opportunity to prove they’re doing just fine.
And the Duchess of Sussex looked as if she chose her outfit with an eye to trendy street style. Meghan opted for a white shirt and brown shorts. However, the 41-year-old added a touch of glam with her layered bracelets, noted Page Six.
A bodyguard joined Prince Harry and Meghan on their outing, which took place amid questions about their future plans. For instance, Spotify ending their $20 million deal sparked questions about future podcasts. And some wonder if Netflix will follow by axing their $100 million partnership.
However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex blame what’s become known as their “flop era” on bad luck caused by others. And a source shared, “The word is that they think they’ve been really unlucky.” The insider revealed that Meghan and Harry have blamed everything from COVID-19 to the economy to the deaths of Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II for their failures to succeed in the private sector.
Meghan Markle And Prince Harry – Blame Bad Timing For ‘Flop Era’
In their attempt to blame their problems on bad luck, the two also point to the timeline. In January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex exited their royal duties. And months later, the COVID pandemic sent the world into lock-down. More than a year later, Prince Philip died at age 99.
In August 2022, Meghan began her podcast Archetypes. However, she feels that the death of Queen Elizabeth the next month stole her spotlight. But an insider shared that Spotify cancelled their contract because the couple did not create enough content. And some of Harry’s ideas baffled execs, such as the Duke wanting to interview Donald Trump about his childhood traumas.
However, the negative impression that the couple made on Hollywood has become increasingly clear. For instance, Spotify exec Bill Simmons mocked Meghan and Harry as “lazy” and “f—king grifters.” And United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer dismissed the actress as “untalented. Just because you’re famous doesn’t make you great at something,” he added about Markle. But Harry hopes to succeed by traveling on his own to Africa for a new documentary.
