Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Return To UK Amid Queen Elizabeth Health Fears

Royal family observers have expressed concern about Queen Elizabeth’s health. And the fears have grown for two reasons. First, the Queen suddenly cancelled the tradition of welcoming the public at Balmoral Castle. And second, royal family watchers worry that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming return to the UK could cause stress for the monarch.

Queen Elizabeth Causes New Health Fears

At 96, Her Majesty has increasingly limited her public appearances. And ever since the Queen stayed in the hospital last October, she also has struggled with her mobility. Most recently, the monarch did not participate in the traditional public welcome to Balmoral Castle, reported Honey.

The Queen has decided to spend her summer at Balmoral Castle, her Scottish Highlands estate. But she has become known for the official public welcome event that takes place just outside the gates. However, this year she cancelled her appearance at that ceremony. And that change resulted in new worries about Her Majesty’s health.

But with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle set to return to the UK, some royal family experts have questioned about the resulting stress for the frail Queen. Harry and Meghan will visit both Germany and England next month. However, they reportedly plan to visit with the Queen during their travels.

Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Want To Visit With The Queen

But the return of the Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex to England has raised many questions. Harry and Meghan attended the Platinum Jubilee in June. And now some royal family experts wonder if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a specific agenda that made them decide to return so soon.

For instance, royal expert Russell Myers admitted that Harry’s and Meghan’s travel plans surprised observers. “We definitely did not think we’d see them for a long while after the frosty reception they got after they turned up for the Platinum Jubilee,” admitted Myers. “Will they be seeing any of the royal family? That is the big question.” And he also pointed to the “moving parts in play” with regard to who Meghan and Harry plan to visit in the UK. 

However, the key question linked to the Queen focuses on her health. Given her recent cancellation of the traditional public welcome to Balmoral Castle, Myers responded to questions about whether the monarch has become more frail. But she did substitute a private, intimate event for that traditional public welcome. 

Queen Elizabeth’s Age Plays Role in Worries

And Myers pointed to her age as the likely cause. “Well, listen the Queen is 96 so we’ve got to cut her some slack sometimes haven’t we?” noted the royal family expert. “She’s had an awfully busy run leading up to the Platinum Jubilee.” However, he clarified the status of her well-being.

“I’m told she’s fit and healthy,” shared Myers. “She just has to be taking things very, very easy.” And the need to relax could clash with pressure from Harry and Meghan to spend time with them. On September 6, the Queen will return to London to welcome Britain’s new prime minister. However, that meeting may conflict with Harry’s and Meghan’s plans. 

“We will see on that September date whether the Queen does come down to see Harry and Meghan,” shared Myers. “Because she has already said she is intending to welcome the new prime minister here in Britain.” As a result, he hinted at concerns that the Queen may overdo it trying to spend time with Harry and Meghan as well as the new prime minister. “There are a lot of moving parts in play,” admitted Myers.
