It seems like there’s a good reason why Meghan Markle has decided to skip King Charles’ Coronation this coming weekend. That’s because there’s a new report that says the Duchess of Sussex would rather stay home than go anywhere near the likes of Prince William and Kate Middleton so that she can protect her peace. According to Page Six, royal reporter Omid Scobie says that the Duchess of Sussex is staying home in California this weekend because she knows that flying to London would break her nerves and worse, do some serious damage to her mental health. In other words, she knows that coming in contact with certain members of the royal family will definitely do a number on her.
During an interview with ITV’s This Morning, he said, “She is aware just how much of the spotlight goes on her when she sets even a foot near the story. It’s portrayed as intentional. Should she come over and just stand next to her husband, the commentary and the narrative of the day would have been very different.”
With that said, Omid added that there are many royal family members behind the scenes that are actually happy that Prince Harry is attending the coronation on his own.
That’s because they think Meghan would have tried to steal the spotlight from King Charles on what will most likely be a very historic day for him.

What’s Next For Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?
Omid also explained why Prince Harry had taken so long to respond to the royal family’s invite and confirm his RSVP. He said, “There was never any question on whether he would want to come or not. It was a question at one point on whether he would be invited, I think. From what I understand, the Sussexes had to wait for some time to really get the confirmation whether they were 100 percent welcome at this event.”
So far Harry and Meghan themselves have not made any comments about the matter.
