Rumors have soared that Meghan Markle possesses political ambitions. And though the reports that she would replace Diane Feinstein in the Senate didn’t come true, speculation swirls about the Duchess of Sussex taking on a role in the 2024 elections, reported Newsweek.

Because Meghan did take on the challenge of urging voters to participate in the 2020 elections, rumors about her political ambitions have grown.

And the gossip has ranged from running for President to seeking a place in the Senate. However, the Duchess of Sussex did not reveal her plans to run for elected office.

But Meghan’s lobbying for Paid Leave for All offered a clue. And in 2024, the Duchess of Sussex faces choices ranging from returning to her 2020 campaign to boost voting to championing President Biden. But the Duchess of Sussex also could seek out Dianne Feinstein’s former Senate seat.

Meghan Markle Faces Key Challenge In Politics

However, Eric Schiffer, chair of Reputation Management Consultants, revealed that Meghan faces a key challenge in running for office. And he questioned whether the Duchess of Sussex would feel willing to lose allies in the Republican party. As a result, Meghan will “need to decide what her objectives are for her future,” said Schiffer.

And the Reputation Management Consultants chair asked, “Is she interested in building her brand to the largest audience potential and being inclusive?

Or is she interested in alienating 50 percent of Americans by taking a position that will change people’s perspective about her? If you decide to support a presidential candidate and you’re a celebrity figure, you risk alienating a portion of your base that is strongly committed emotionally to the other side.”

Because of a “Trump base that is more committed than ever before,” Schiffer issued a warning. “And if Meghan gets behind it she will ensure pariah status among those who see her being an advocate for Biden.” For a woman who values her celebrity status and popularity, the Duchess of Sussex might hesitate to risk alienating so many voters.

Polls Reveal Meghan Markle’s Political Odds

However, polls reveal that Republicans already feel disinclined to side with Meghan. And after Prince Harry’s memoir Spare, both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex saw their popularity ratings fall. But the latest polls show that they regained some of those losses with Democrats but not with Republicans.

For instance, a poll by Redfield & Wilton revealed that 25 percent of those who voted for Trump in 2020 favored Meghan versus 45 percent who felt negatively about her. And that came out to a net approval rating of -20 among Republicans. But 41 percent of 2020 Biden voters felt positively about the Duchess of Sussex versus 24 percent who felt negatively, a net rating of +17.
