Meghan Markle – Sparks Backlash Over Gender Pay Gap

The Duchess of Sussex has angered those who believed that Meghan Markle supported equal rights and equal pay for both men and women.

But a new report via the Express reveals that Meghan established a noticeable pay difference for men and women in her foundation.

And it comes after the Duchess of Sussex insisted that she believed in feminism. But while Meghan likes to boast about her feminist credentials, using her platform for women’s rights, it doesn’t transfer to real-world applications. For instance, Meghan approved a shocking gender pay gap in her own foundation.

As a result, observers have called the Duchess of Sussex a hypocrite for proclaiming a commitment to women’s rights while still failing to change gender inequality in her own company. And though Meghan likes slogans such as “feminism is about fairness,” her own organization didn’t follow through. 

Meghan Markle – Pays Men More Than Women

And the newly released published tax returns show that Meghan’s company possesses a huge gender pay gap among its highest-paid employees.

For instance, Archewell’s executive director and president James Holt received a salary of £181,582 ($227,405) in 2022, with senior strategic advisor Michael Stein earning a £111,882 ($140,116) and co-executive director Shauna Nep taking home £74,232 ($92,994).

And social media critics slammed Meghan for her hypocritical lack of equal pay for her staff. As one critic noted, both the Duke of Sussex and Duchess of Sussex stay busy “spouting equity, equality and other word salad. But it appears that their actions do not equate to their words. Look at the salary difference.

And others observed that Meghan regularly shares her support for minority groups. For example, one critic wrote that Meghan “champions WOC/POC. And she NEVER EVER HIRES THEM. Not once. Her 1 direct hire was also a white woman, Sara Latham.”

Meanwhile, in an example of perfect timing, a popular Los Angeles store has featured Meghan and Prince Harry in their Holiday Hollywood Hypocrites display, per MSN. For the past four years, Kitson Los Angeles designs its window displays to take side swipes at the rich and famous. And this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex dominated in the display as the biggest Hollywood Holiday Hypocrites!
