Meghan Markle Blasted for ‘Upgrading’ Prince Harry’s Pilot Status as Backlash Erupts

Meghan Markle Blasted for ‘Upgrading’ Prince Harry’s Pilot Status as Backlash EruptsFans are seemingly not going to let Meghan Markle rest after she suavely decided to upgrade her husband’s achievements in the military.

According to the Duchess and former actress, her husband Harry flew for 10 years as a helicopter pilot in the British army. Did he really?

What Meghan Markle Said About Prince Harry’s Helicopter Pilot Credentials

Okay, let’s first separate facts from fancy. While Harry did serve in the army for a decade, he spent just under 4 years as a co-pilot and gunner during a tour in Afghanistan.

However, in a June 28 Q&A that followed after the screening of their latest project, ‘Cookie Queens,’ Meghan talked about tough moments, saying, “I think so much of it, funny enough, I was thinking about something my husband told me ages ago, because we all go through experiences and life is full of surprises.”

She continued: “But you know, he was a helicopter pilot in the British Army for 10 years. And sometimes, on really hard days, he said, ‘Hey, but my love, you know, even if there’s a storm happening, above the storm the sun’s always shining.’”

Harry’s military career started when he entered Royal Military Academy Sandhurst on May 8, 2005 as a cadet, completing 11 months of training.

In May 2009 at RAF Shawbury, Harry began formal helicopter training, before earning his wings a year later. In 2012, he qualified as an Apache co-pilot gunner after training in the U.S.

In 2013, he reached the top of his aviation career by qualifying as an Apache Aircraft Commander. By the time he left the army in 2015, it was with the rank of Captain.

Fans React To Meghan Markle’s “Disgusting” Statement On Prince Harry’s Pilot Career

True to form, fans found Meghan’s proclamation disturbing, since Harry did not serve as a pilot anywhere near a decade.

Writing on this, a royalist said, “There is little more disgusting than stolen valor. Harry did not pilot helicopters in the British Army for 10 years. Meghan is stealing other service members’ stories – on Harry’s behalf. It should have been called out on stage at the time.”

“He’s not even a pilot. William is the pilot. Harry was just a gunner and I doubt he ever saw combat. He was busy in his tent playing video games. He went out for a couple of photo ops,” another blasted.
