Meghan Markle Crumbled Under Pressure – Wasn’t Ready For Royal Fame?

Alack and alas, some seem incapable of evaluating Meghan Markle on her own merits. Instead, they absolutely must compare Meghan to Princess Diana, or to Kate Middleton. Indeed, in the new book “Finding Freedom,” co-authored by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand suggests that Meghan Markle’s reaction to heightened fame following her marriage to Prince Harry can be compared to Diana’s experience after marrying Prince Charles.

This is ludicrous, of course, considering the fact that Meghan Markle was already enjoying quite a bit of notoriety in some quarters. After all, Meghan Markle was starring on the hit television series, “Suits” and was already a multi-millionaire when she went out on a blind date with Prince Harry. Therefore some argue that Meghan Markle certainly couldn’t have been too influenced or overly awed by an increase in fame.

On the flip side, Princess Diana came from a much more wealthy family than Meghan Markle. Indeed, there are zero comparisons there as individual family members within Princess Diana’s family have net worth’s approaching over £100 Million. While Princess Diana’s net worth was never made public, it’s estimated that she too was incredibly wealthy due to her inheritance and her father’s money.

Thus, when it comes to money … Prince Diana wins any comparison. Diana had a lot more than Meghan Markle when she married Prince Charles. When it comes to fame, however, Meghan wins that match hands down. Diana might have been wealthy, but she wasn’t in the public eye in the same way that Meghan Markle was when she met and married Prince Harry.

In any case, the Royally Obsessed podcast suggested that Meghan Markle, “could not really understand what it would mean to be famous on the level that Prince Harry had been for his entire life … I think the night before Meghan and Harry were forced to reveal their relationship, it just seems like she wasn’t prepared. She was nervous to do it because she liked the bubble that they had six months together but then her life was completely blown up overnight.”

All this is speculation and a lot to do about nothing, of course, since Meghan Markle has apparently handled things just fine. Whether she was prepared or unprepared, many would argue that Meghan Markle is supremely adept at taking whatever attention she gets and capitalizing upon it. Indeed, Meghan was recently called a “megawatt attention hound” by royal biographer Angela Levin.

Many in America would tend to agree with Meghan’s “attention hound” image since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have attempted to latch on and leverage the Black Lives Matter movement to further their own media exposure.

For quite some time now, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland (along with a couple of dogs) have all lived in a palatial estate in Los Angeles. The home Meghan and Harry live in is owned by movie mogul Tyler Perry and is valued at £18 Million. They remain funded, despite being “financially independent,” by Prince Charles’s Duchy of Cornwall.

She didn’t “crumble”. She didn’t get her way and threw a tantrum.
