Meghan Markle Declared She’d Move To Canada If Donald Trump Became Pres. – What Happened To Her Pledge?

Some may recall that way back in 2016 before the U.S. national elections, many celebrities, including Meghan Markle, claimed that they would pack their bags and leave America if Donald Trump won the presidency. Just some of these celebrities included famous individuals such as Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer, Whoopi Goldberg, Snoop Dogg, and many others according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, none of these people, including Meghan Markle kept their word.

Now, people are recalling Meghan’s words as today she is becoming increasingly political and her activism is seen by many as a call to remove Donald Trump from the White House. In fact, Meghan’s activism has caught the attention of President Trump who said following one of Meghan’s speeches, “I’m not a fan of hers, and I would say this, and she’s probably already heard this, I wish a lot of luck to Harry because he’s going to need it.”

Even those who are not Trump fans are questioning Meghan Markle’s behavior these days as not only has she proven herself to be a bit hypocritical by choosing to relocate to California instead of staying on Vancouver Island while Trump is president, but she has also broken Royal protocol in a blatantly aggressive and shocking manner.

Buckingham Palace Backs Trump (To A Degree)

Outside of the many British and American “regular folk” who find themselves in agreement that Meghan Markle is an albatross around the Monarchy’s throats, Buckingham Palace has officially begun to distance itself from Meghan and Prince Harry’s recent activism.

When asked about it, representatives for The Firm reportedly said, “We would not comment. The Duke is not a working member of the Royal Family and any comments he makes are made in a personal capacity.”

The cold attitude presented by Harry’s royal family is thought to be due to the fact that the British Royal Family is traditionally non-partisan. Moreover, the British Crown is horrified at the prospect that it should be seen as interfering in internal American politics. Prince Harry’s recent comments alongside Meghan Markle have been interpreted as exactly that, with Prince Harry effectively calling for a change in American leadership.

Prince Harry’s exact words were, “This election I am not able to vote in the US. But many of you may not know that I haven’t been able to vote in the UK my entire life. As we approach this November, it’s vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation, and online negativity.”

Piers Morgan And Others Want Harry Stripped Of Titles

While Buckingham Palace has been subdued in its response to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s public outbursts, prominent British commentators and political figures on both the left and the right are furious with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

In fact, former Liberal Democrat MP, Norman Baker said, “I think it’s appropriate for any private citizen to comment on the US election. The problem is that Harry has retained his HRH status and is not a private citizen but still a representative of this country. He needs to stop trying to have a foot in both camps – royal when it suits him and private when it doesn’t. Or, to turn on its head the old phrase, I agree with what he says but disagree with his right to say it.”

Piers Morgan, a British television host also Tweeted out, “Prince Harry poking his woke nose into the US election & effectively telling Americans to vote against President Trump is completely unacceptable behavior for a member of the Royal Family.”

In any case, most don’t believe that either Prince Harry or Meghan Markle will be stripped of their titles despite their rapidly decreasing popularity.
