Meghan Markle Ditches Sussex Last Name After Announcing This Major Change

Meghan Sussex is still cooking in the oven and Meghan Markle is a remnant of the Duchess’s old life. For her Lemonada podcast, ‘Confessions of A Female Founder,’ the former actress, 43, is just Meghan.

This is coming after she shocked the world by announcing that she has opted to change her last name to Sussex.

At the time, this was seen as a bold move as fans have often called for she and Harry to be stripped of their titles so that they can live on as private citizens. However, is it possible she now wants to go mononymous?

Meghan Markle Drops Last Name Entirely For New Podcast

In her Netflix podcast, ‘With Love, Meghan,’ we learned that the Duchess has decided to make a last name switch to Sussex. Her reason was simple and understandable enough, to be sure.

According to the Duchess, the name is important to her for this reason: “You have kids, and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go; this is our family name, our little family name.”

She reiterated this in her PEOPLE interview, saying, “It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children. A huge part of our love story is that we share the name Sussex.”

Despite this announcement, Meghan has opted for a mononymous introduction in her Lemonada podcast.

Markle wrapped the episode she interviewed Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd with podcast credits listed by a different woman. “‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ is a production of Lemonada Media, created and hosted by Meghan,” the voice announced.

During her recent appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show, she was introduced as Meghan Sussex by the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actress and talk show host.

Since announcing the name change, Meghan has received support from celebrity pals. First of all, of course, is Mindy Kaling, who, after hearing her explanation on her Netflix cooking show, declared, “Now I know. And I love it.”
