Meghan Markle Introduced As Meghan Sussex On the Drew Barrymore Show
It might have surprised us when Meghan unveiled her shiny new Sussex last name on ‘With Love, Meghan’ during a conversation with Mindy Kaling, but it should have become normal for fans at this point.
Drew Barrymore addressed the ‘Suits’ alum as Meghan Sussex during her appearance on the upcoming Thursday episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. This goes in contrast to her official title, ‘Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.’ of Sussex Title In Major Move
Even though the duo lost the right to be styled as HRH when they left their positions as senior members of the Royal Family, they kept the Sussex styling, which was bestowed on them by the Queen during their 2018 wedding.
Their children Archie and Lilibet also use Sussex as their last name in school, which goes in line with royal tradition.
“It’s our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn’t recognised how meaningful that would be to me until we had children,” Meghan told PEOPLE during a chat to promote her Netflix cooking show and lifestyle brand, As Ever.
The duchess added at the time: “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together. It means a lot to me.”
“A huge part of our love story is that we share the name Sussex,” Meghan said, noting that its importance will start to get more significant as the children grow older.
The first time Meghan introduced the name to the world, or to Mindy Kaling at least, was during a segment of her cooking show when Kaling kept referring to her as Meghan Markle.
“It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying Meghan Markle. You know I’m Sussex now,” Meghan corrected, before going on to add, “You have kids, and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go; this is our family name, our little family name.”
This week has been a busy one for Meghan, as she continues to forge ahead with the launch of her brand As Ever and prepare for the release of her Lemonada Media podcast, ‘Confessions of A Female Founder.’
