The former Hollywood actress, who is now living in sunny California with Prince Harry after they pulled a Megxit on the royal family, was slammed this week for appearing to wear Princess Diana’s Cartier watch and jewelry in a new black-and-white portrait with her husband. According to reports, the new photo was released ahead of the virtual Time100 Talks on the State of Our Shared Digital Experience, which will kick off this week. Both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are hosting the event. While Harry and Meghan definitely looked polished and chic in their portrait, it’s all of the bling that Meghan is wearing that has caught everyone’s attention the most.

While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, there’s speculation that Meghan is wearing the same emerald-cut aquamarine ring that once belonged to Princess Diana in the photo. The last time Meghan was seen with the ring was at her wedding reception at Frogmore House. If that weren’t enough, eagle-eyed royal fans also noticed that Meghan was wearing Princess Diana’s Cartier Love Bracelet and watch. Earlier reports indicate that both items were a present that Meghan received from Prince Harry before the couple got engaged.

British Royal News: The Critics Are Not Impressed With Meghan

Unfortunately for the Duchess of Sussex, there have been plenty of critics who have taken to their social media accounts to express their dismay over the fact that Meghan is still wearing Princess Diana’s jewelry – and for public display no less – even though she’s not a committed member of the British royal family anymore.

Some comments from disgruntled royal fans have included, “She likes the royal jewelry but she just doesn’t like to put the royal work in,” along with, “It’s a shame that Prince Harry doesn’t seem what’s most important to Meghan Markle, and that’s making sure everyone sees the bling on her wrists.”
